September 5 (Carolyn & Betsy) Old Homeplace 1-2 miles and 2-3 hours of easy to moderate walking with multiple paths available. Walkers will enjoy seeing an old homestead, fields, streams and a water cascade.
September 19 (Betsy & Jim) Grandma’s Mountain This is an easy to moderate 1-2 hour hike on private land protected with a conservation easement held by SCLT. It is a walk suitable for grandmas and grandchildren.
October 3- (Chuck & Ann) Round Mountain Explore the site of the Battle of Round Mountain. Located off Howard Gap Road, this walk offers a picnic area, rock outcroppings, and an optional climb to the top of the mountain for Piedmont views.
October 17 - (Chuck & Jim) Little White Oak Mountain This is a moderate walk on a 300-plus acre parcel featuring hiking and biking trails, adjacent to Polk County Middle School.
